The Green Bay Packers will take on the San Francisco 49ers for their Week 12 matchup on Sunday afternoon. At 7-3, the Packers are looking to keep pace in the highly competitive NFC North. The Detroit Lions currently lead the division with a 9-1 record while the Minnesota Vikings are in second at 8-2.
San Francisco, meanwhile, is one of three 5-5 teams in the NFC West. The Arizona Cardinals lead that division with a record of 6-4, so despite the 49ers’ disappointing start to the season, they are very much still in the hunt for a spot in the NFL Playoffs.
As was the case last week when they defeated the Chicago Bears, the Packers’ game will be broadcast on Fox. And for the second week in a row, seven-time Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady will be one of the broadcasters.
Tom Brady Reveals His Favorite Memories Playing the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field
In a recent episode of “Tom Brady’s Fan Mailbag,” Brady was asked about his favorite memory playing at Lambeau Field, the iconic home of the Packers.
One can tell that the mystique and importance of Lambeau are not lost on Brady, as his answer echoed those of many fans and players who have entered its doors:
“The first time that I played in Lambeau, I literally took a video of me walking down the tunnel down to the field. I felt like I was in hallowed grounds. It was one of the coolest experiences — not to mention I was playing against Brett Favre that day. It was an incredible memory.”
While Brady had a 2-1 career record at Lambeau Field, that first game he played was his only loss.
The Packers defeated the New England Patriots 28-10 that day, with Brett Favre completed 17 of 27 passes for 147 yards and three touchdowns (no interceptions. Brady, on the other hand, completed 24 of 44 passes for 183 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions.
As one might have expected, Brady’s second-favorite memory at Lambeau Field is one that Packers fans would rather forget:
“The second memory was winning there in the NFC Championship game with the Bucs in the 2020 season. I had my oldest son, Jack, there at the game. He was about 14 years old at the time. He flew in from New York.
“We won the game and my now-colleague, Erin Andrews, spotted him in the crowd and said, ‘Jack, come down and say hi to your dad.’ He was a little reluctant at first, but I have video from that day that was such a great memory, because I looked up in the stands and it was just the greatest joy being able to celebrate with him in that moment, and it was a day that I’ll never forget.”
That game, of course, pitted Brady against Aaron Rodgers in a battle of the NFL’s best quarterbacks that year. Unfortunately for Green Bay, Brady was just a bit better (and luckier) in that particular instance.
