The Green Bay Packers made the decision to move on from veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis after the 2022 season. Lewis had spent the last five seasons in Green Bay (2018-2022). He quickly became a fan favorite with the Packers and consistently proved he was still one of the best blocking tight ends in the NFL.
However, after no re-signing with the Packers, Lewis went south of the border to sign a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears. After the Packers thrashed the Bears 38-20 on opening weekend, Lewis released a statement.

Following the loss, Lewis took to social media to react:
Losing sucks. It never feels good, nor should it. But losing does create an opportunity to reflect, confront our challenges/mistakes, and then refocus on our goals. Onward & Upward.
Lewis didn’t record any stats against the Packers, it is unclear how many snaps he played (if any). There was no better way to open up the Jordan Love Era for the Green Bay Packers than by defeating their oldest rivals, the Chicago Bears. With a 10-6 lead at halftime, Green Bay went on a four-touchdown spree in the second half, easily beating the Bears.
Next week the Packers will be on the road to take on the Atlanta Falcons (12:00pm CT), and the Bears will travel to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (12:00pm CT).
