The Green Bay Packers defeated the Tennessee Titans on the road 30-14 on Sunday afternoon. One of the biggest stories was Malik Willis facing his former team. He didn’t view this game as a revenge game for him considering the fact he was traded from the Titans before the start of the 2024 season.
Willis has had to start in the last two games for Green Bay because Jordan Love is still recovering from a sprained MCL. As for Tennessee, Will Levis has not looked good for the Titans in the first three games of the season.
Tennessee Titans Head Coach Brian Callahan Confirms That Will Levis Will Still Be the Starting Quarterback After the Green Bay Packers Loss
There have been times already this season where fans have called for the Titans to bench Will Levis and go with Mason Rudolph at quarterback. Levis completed 26-of-34 passes for 260 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions against the Green Bay Packers.
Jaire Alexander had a 35-yard interception return for a touchdown in the first quarter. It was Alexander’s first career pick-six.
After the game was over, Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan talked to ESPN’s Turron Davenport about Will Levis being the starter moving forward. Callahan said:
“Oh yeah. We’ve also got to play better around him. I’m not going to overreact to an interception. Those things happen, guys throw picks, we just can’t give it to their team. It’s a killer. But we’ve not played a complete game in any phase at any point yet.”
Will Levis is in his second year in the NFL from the University of Kentucky. He has made boneheaded plays in his first three games of the season. Levis will need to clean those up moving forward. They will face a 1-2 Miami Dolphins team next Monday night.
Packers’ Defense Sacked Levis Eight Times
Even though Will Levis has not made smart decisions for the Titans this season, Brian Callahan is correct that other phases of the game have not been good. The offensive line has been struggling in the first three weeks of the 2024 NFL season.
The Packers recorded eight sacks against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday afternoon. Tennessee has seen a ton of pressure from other teams as well. The Titans will need to clean that up. As for the Packers, they will need to continue getting after the quarterback.
