Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander had a 35-yard pick-six on Will Levis in the first quarter of the 30-14 win against the Tennessee Titans on the road. Green Bay improved to 2-1 on the season and Tennessee dropped to 0-3 on the season.
Alexander has been a part of an improved ball-hawking Packers defense through the first three weeks of the 2024 season. The defense already has seven interceptions this season. Green Bay only had seven interceptions last season. They are on pace to have more than 15 interceptions this season.
Green Bay Packers Jaire Alexander Gives Credit To the Pass Rush In the Win Against the Tennessee Titans
Everyone on the Packers’ defense wants to talk about the pick-six that Alexander had or the other interception that Xavier McKinney had in the game. McKinney has three interceptions this season. He has one in each game.
Jaire Alexander spoke to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic after the game. Alexander said about the defense on Sunday afternoon:
“Our pass rush was literally on one today. I don’t know what they had for breakfast, but they need to keep eating it. Well, pause. But literally, they were great.”
The Tennessee Titans offensive line was a major problem last year and it appears to be a problem this year as well for them. What also doesn’t help is that Will Levis also makes impulsive decisions with the football as well.
In this contest, Green Bay also recorded eight sacks in the game. Devonte Wyatt and Preston Smith each had two sacks in the game for the Packers. Kingsley Enagbare recorded 1.5 sacks and Lukas Van Ness recorded one sack. Edgerrin Cooper, Quay Walker, and Isaiah McDuffie each recorded 0.5 sacks for the Green Bay Packers as well.
The team only had a couple of sacks in the first two weeks of the 2024 NFL season before Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans. It will be interesting to see if the Green Bay Packers will get after the quarterback in Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings at home.
Alexander Has a Green Belt That Says “Undisputed Island”
After the game, the former Louisville Cardinals cornerback mentioned to the media about having a green belt that says “Undisputed Island.” He also told Matt Schneidman of The Athletic:
“I guess it was for my first pick-six. Somebody gave it to me. Undisputed. Pack is back.”
Jaire Alexander also mentioned that he kept the football from the pick-six this afternoon. This will not be the last time this season where he or the pass rush will make an impact. This is only the beginning of the potential for this defense this season.
