Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs did not play on Thanksgiving against the Miami Dolphins because he suffered a concussion in Week 12 against the San Francisco 49ers. Doubs is trying to get back onto the playing field for this Thursday night against the Detroit Lions on the road. He was limited in practice on Monday.
Doubs this season with the Packers has caught 34 passes for 483 yards and two touchdowns, along with averaging 14.2 yards per reception. He has been targeted 53 times.
Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Romeo Doubs Partaking During Stretching Period In Tuesday’s Practice Before Detroit Lions Matchup
On Tuesday, the Athletic’s Matt Schneidman said on his Twitter page during Packers practice:
“We only get to watch stretch on Fridays (that’s today for a Thursday game), but Jaire Alexander and Romeo Doubs are both partaking. So is Elgton Jenkins after missing yesterday. Edgerrin Cooper and Corey Ballentine still sidelined. Final injury report tomorrow, not today.”
This is a good sign that Romeo Doubs took part in practice on Tuesday. It will be interesting to see what happens when the injury report gets released tomorrow to see if he is one step closer to playing or not against the Detroit Lions. If Doubs doesn’t play against Detroit, there is a good chance that he could be back against the Seattle Seahawks the week after.
Dontayvion Wicks Struggling
One of the biggest disappointments this season with the Packers with having players like Doubs sidelined is Dontayvion Wicks struggling. Wicks has caught 21 passes for 247 yards receiving and four touchdowns, along with averaging 11.8 yards per catch.
Wicks has been targeted 51 times this season and he has dropped a lot of passes. Quarterback Jordan Love has tried to connect with him constantly this season, but it hasn’t been the same as last season. If Romeo Doubs is ruled out for Thursday night, Wicks will need to start playing better than he has been.
