The Green Bay Packers got their biggest win of the season on Sunday Night. The Packers started out fast and never looked back as they stole the show against the Kansas City Chiefs. Jordan Love threw three touchdowns and zero interceptions en route to 27-19 victory. The win moved them to 6-6 on the season and moved the Packers into the seventh and final playoff seed in the NFC.
Following the loss the Packers have made a multitude of moves, one of those was reported today when the Packers moved on from a veteran running back.
The Green Bay Packers Release Veteran Running Back James Robinson… Again
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero:
The Packers officially signed veteran RB Kenyan Drake to the practice squad and released RB James Robinson from the practice squad
With the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs heading for Green Bay on Sunday, the Packers brought back former 1,000+ yard rusher James Robinson. That stint didn’t last long as he was released today.
After initially signing with the Packers in October, Robinson bounced between the active roster, practice squad, and free agency. This time, however, could be the last time we saw Robinson in Green Bay as Drake took his number (32) and plays the same position.
As a 29-year-old, Drake brings experience to a running back room that is missing a key player. With more than 3,800 rushing yards and 1,600 receiving yards, he brings a ton of versatility to a running back room that is lacking in that department. Using him effectively in the passing game might provide the Packers with a layer they’ve been missing since Jones went down.
