When the Green Bay Packers decided to make the move from Aaron Rodgers to Jordan Love, there were quite a few factors for the decision. A small one, but one nonetheless, was the fact that a young quarterback can grow with a young team much better than a veteran always considering retirement.
Rodgers did not want to play with a bunch of young players. In order to fix that problem, they let a young player take over the reigns of the franchise.
Love has completely blossomed as the leader of the Packers. Even with the few veteran pieces that are around him, he has won them over and the entire team plays hard for their quarterback. The same could not be said for Rodgers last season.
Green Bay Packers Rookie Shares Awesome Jordan Love Story
To show some of how Love has won his teammates over, young breakout wide receiver Bo Melton spoke out today with an awesome story about the first-year starting quarterback.
Melton, as shared by Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, shared that Love has been hosting team dinners and film sessions on Monday’s all season long. That is the kind of leadership and teamwork that the Packers have been missing for the last few years with Rodgers.
“Just the bond of staying connected with him, that’s big as a wide receiver.”
Last year, there were stories that came out about Rodgers not spending time with his rookie wide receivers. One of the most popular came from Romeo Doubs.
This is exactly the kind of energy that the Green Bay Packers needed from their new franchise quarterback. Not only has Love been a great teammates, but he has also been great on the field. His numbers prove that he has the potential and talent to become a legitimate superstar.
Hopefully, Love and the Green Bay Packers will be able to pick up a win this week against the Chicago Bears to get into the playoffs. They’ve worked hard to get to this point and the young players would get very valuable experience just getting into the postseason.
