The Green Bay Packers are looking for depth at their running back spot. With AJ Dillon on his way out of Green Bay, they are particularly in the market for a powerful back who can support star Aaron Jones. In the NFL it is rare for a former offensive player of the year to become available while still in their prime. Luckily for the Green Bay Packers, both a power back and former offensive player of the year have become available for the 2024 free agency class.
Superstar Derrick Henry Hits Open Market

Derrick Henry is one of the most prolific running backs of all time. Holding a powerful blend of pure strength and speed, any team would love to have a strong back like him to support their offense. Drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft from the Alabama Crimson Tide, Henry quickly set himself apart in a class of his own at the key position. 8 years later after four pro bowls, two rushing titles, and an Offensive Player of the Year Award in 2020, Derrick Henry is set to hit free agency.
Running back Derrick Henry is unlikely to return to the Tennessee #Titans after a historic eight-year run, per sources, though the door is not completely closed.

Coming off of an extremely productive season, 2nd in rushing yards and 3rd in touchdowns among running backs playing in all 17 games for the Tennessee Titans. It appears as though the premier running back is not slowing down at 30 years old. With that level of consistency and talent, there is no reason the Green Bay Packers would not be interested in adding one of the greatest running backs of all time to their roster.
Derrick Henry Tie To Green Bay Packers

The idea of Derrick Henry joining the Green Bay Packers is not an unbelievable one, as he likely has more comfort with the idea than many think. In the season before joining the Green Bay Packers as Head Coach, Matt Lafleur was hired as offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans. This is at a pivotal time for Derrick Henry as Lafleur ushered Derrick Henry into his first starting running back role.
As the Packers prepared for the Tennesee Titans, Matt Lafleur had nothing but praise for the elite running back.
Now in 2024, head coach and offensive engineer Matt Lafleur has the opportunity to obtain his former playmaker.
