There have been few Green Bay Packers players as universally beloved by fans over the past decade as former Pro Bowl wide receiver Randall Cobb. His work both on the field and in the community have made him an easy lock for induction into the Packers Hall of Fame when he does decide to call it a career.
Despite the fact that he did not play in Green Bay last season, he is still very much considered to be a huge part of the Packers family.
Unfortunately, Cobb and his own family suffered a devastating loss on Tuesday night.
Former Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Randall Cobb and His Family Escaped a House Fire
According to Kyle Malzahn of WFRV in Green Bay, Cobb’s wife, Aiyda, posted on Instagram that the family’s Tesla Charger caught fire in their garage. The flames spread quickly throughout the house.
Cobb and his family are all safe after escaping, but they were only able to get out with the clothes on their backs. There has been no further report as to the extent of the damage to the home:
Wow. Randall Cobb’s wife posted on Instagram that the family’s Tesla charger caught on fire in the garage and quickly spread saying, “We are lucky to be alive”.

The most important thing, of course, is that Cobb and his family are safe.
According to a recent report by WPVI in Philadelphia, there is a growing number of Tesla chargers installed in homes that are catching fire. The report states that the fires result from improper installation, which is usually done by an electrician.
Randall Cobb’s Legacy with the Green Bay Packers
Cobb was a second-round pick by the Packers in the 2011 NFL Draft. He made an instant impact on the team, racking up over 1,616 punt and kick return yards, including a 108-yard kick return for a touchdown.
Cobb’s best season with the Packers was the 2014 campaign when he had 91 receptions for 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns. He was named to his first and only Pro Bowl that year.
In 10 seasons with the Packers, Cobb had 532 receptions for 6,316 yards and 47 touchdowns. He ranks fifth in franchise history in receptions, 11th in receiving yards, and 11th in receiving touchdowns.
