After an impressive run last season, the Green Bay Packers signed Jordan Love to one of the NFL’s most lucrative deals. This prompted franchise great Aaron Rodgers to come up with a real estate offer, one the young star responded with a witty comeback.
The Packers recently signed Love to a 4-year, $220 million contract extension. The deal includes a record $75 million signing bonus and ties the quarterback for the highest-paid player in NFL history, averaging $55 million per year.
This comes a year after Love took over as the Packers’ starting QB following the departure of Aaron Rodgers. Love initially agreed to a 1-year deal with incentives in 2023, and he delivered a strong season, finishing top-10 in several passing categories and leading the Packers to the playoffs.
The Packers’ investment in Love marks the end of the uncertainty at the QB position that had plagued the franchise in recent years. After a rocky start to the 2023 season, Love turned things around, completing over 70% of his passes with an impressive 18:1 TD-to-INT ratio over the final 8 games.
By locking up Love long-term, the Packers are firmly committing to the 25-year-old as their quarterback of the future. The record-setting deal shows the team’s confidence in Love’s ability to lead the franchise for years to come.
Green Bay Packers’ Jordan Love Responds to Aaron Rodgers’ House Offer
After Love inked his new contract extension, Rodgers joked him with an offer to buy his house in Green Bay. The Packers’ franchise player responded with a witty comeback, as seen in a video the NFL’s official account shared on X.

Love had a standout 2023 season, finishing second in the league with 32 touchdown passes and seventh in passing yards with 4,159. He elevated his game in the latter half of the season, posting a passer rating of 108 or better seven times in the final eight games, including a 157.2 rating in the Packers’ playoff victory.
With a huge extension locking him to the team for the coming years, there’s no reason Love won’t stay in Green Bay and elevate the franchise to Super Bowl contenders. And even without Rodgers’ house offer, the star quarterback is already home with the Packers.
