The Green Bay Packers are in the middle of trying to extend 25-year-old quarterback Jordan Love. Love’s second half of the 2023 season (and into the playoffs) showed the Packers’ front office that he was worth keeping around. He will likely be one of the highest paid quarterbacks in the league very soon.
However, in the Packers have decided to bring in another quarterback while those negotiations are ongoing.
The Green Bay Packers Sign Fourth Quarterback Amid Jordan Love Contract Negotiations
Because Jordan Love is not practicing at Packers camp while he awaits a new contract, the team added another quarterback to split the workload.
Jacob Eason has been signed to the 90-man roster. As a result, long snapper Peter Bowden was released.
Eason participated in the team’s rookie minicamp this year. The Colts selected him in the fourth round of the 2020 draft, and he has also played for the Seahawks, Panthers, 49ers, and Giants. His two appearances in regular season games resulted in 84 yards and one interception on 5-of-10 passing.
Eason will join Clifford and Pratt in handling quarterback duties until Love signs a new deal.
