Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love agreed to a four-year deal worth $220 million over the weekend. Love was entering the final year of his contract and Green Bay will have its star quarterback on the roster for a while. Jordan Love did not practice in training camp before receiving his new contract.
With him signing his new deal, he is not the only quarterback who received a new contract this offseason. Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins and Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars also received new contract extensions this offseason. A lot of quarterbacks are receiving new deals.
It is amazing that over the years, the only starting quarterbacks for the Green Bay Packers have been Jordan Love, Aaron Rodgers, and Brett Favre. Favre is a Hall of Fame player and Rodgers is a future Hall of Famer. It will be interesting to see what Love does throughout the rest of his NFL career.
NFL Analyst Ryan Clark Makes Bold Prediction About Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love
NFL analyst Ryan Clark went onto ESPN’s Show Get Up on Monday morning to talk about the contract extension that Love signed with the Packers. When he was talking about it, he made a bold prediction about him and the franchise. Ryan Clark said:
“The Green Bay Packers can have more success as a team with Jordan Love than they did under Brett Favre or with Aaron Rodgers.”
This is a very interesting statement. Favre only won one Super Bowl with the Packers and so did Aaron Rodgers. The last time the Green Bay Packers won it all was in 2010 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. They could have very well won more Super Bowls in the Rodgers era, but that was not because of him. It was because of bad special teams and defenses did not perform when it mattered the most.
It is very hard to win a Super Bowl title. Jordan Love no doubt can be the next quarterback to help Green Bay win another Lombardi Trophy. A lot of players are currently on rookie deals now including wide receivers Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Christian Watson, and Romeo Doubs. Love is about to become an elite quarterback. If the Packers win it all this season, there will be talks about them winning multiple titles.
However, wasn’t that the case when they won it all in 2010 with Aaron Rodgers? It is harder to win it all than people make it out to be.
