The Green Bay Packers are going to need to add some significant talent this offseason if they are to take the next step towards truly being Super Bowl contenders. While the last two seasons can be viewed as “rebuild” years following the trades of Davante Adams following 2021 NFL season and Aaron Rodgers following the 2022 season, there should be optimism that the apparent floor in Green Bay is to get the final Wild Card spot in the NFC.
However, in Titletown, merely making the NFL Playoffs is not enough. While other teams like the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings may hang banners for division titles, the only accomplishments acknowledged in Green Bay are Super Bowls.
As the youngest team in the NFL in each of the past two seasons, making the postseason should be viewed as quite the accomplishment. However, the time for rebuilding is over, and the time for competing for another Super Bowl is here.
The Green Bay Packers Have Been Linked to Several High-Profile Veterans
There are, of course, a variety of positions that the Packers need to address on their roster. One of these is wide receiver as Christian Watson is expected to be out for most, if not all, of the 2025 season after tearing his ACL in Week 18 against the Chicago Bears. Additionally, the other top Green Bay pass catchers all struggled with drops last season.
The two most-named veterans as potential free agent or trade targets have been Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins and Adams, who is currently on the New York Jets but appears to be open to a reunion with the Packers.
Another position that Green Bay likely will address in the NFL Draft and/or free agency/the trade market is pass rusher. The Packers had one of the worst pressure rates in the league last season and will need to add some talent alongside Pro Bowler Rashan Gary.
Green Bay Packers Trade Target Maxx Crosby Wants to Be a Champion
One of the players that has been linked to the Packers, at least by fans, over the last few weeks is Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro Maxx Crosby. Like Adams last season, Crosby is frustrated with the direction of the Raiders franchise and may become available via trade.
Like most, if not all, NFL players, Crosby has one goal in mind for whichever team he plays for in 2025:
I Will Be A Champion. 🦅💎

Packers fans were quick to respond to the four-time Pro Bowler with 59.5 career sacks:

Of course, the only rumors of Crosby being pursued by Green Bay are coming from fans, but there is no denying that he would be an amazing addition to the roster.
