The Green Bay Packers have a couple coaching positions that they need to fill this offseason. After firing defensive line coach Jason Rebrovich, they still need to find his replacement. Additionally, quarterbacks coach Tom Clements retired. He is the only coach in NFL history that worked with Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre, future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers, and current Packers starter Jordan Love.
As is the case with the defensive line coaching position, Matt LaFleur has not announced a replacement for Clements. He did, however, announce two major decisions in regard to his coaching staff.
Green Bay Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur Names Luke Getsy as a Senior Offensive Assistant
According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, LaFleur has retained Luke Getsy as a senior offensive Assistant.
“LaFleur rehired Getsy to be a senior offensive assistant, although his title could change if offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich leaves. Getsy served under LaFleur as quarterbacks coach in 2019 and quarterbacks coach/passing game coordinator in 2020-21.”
As Silverstein notes, Getsy previously worked for LaFleur as the quarterbacks coach in 2019 and as passing game coordinator from 2020-2021. He left the Packers to become the offensive coordinator of the Chicago Bears, and then was named to that same position with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024, but was fired before the season ended.
LaFleur had brought Getsy back on staff following his firing as a defensive analyst.
It is also noteworthy that Getsy could be named offensive coordinator in the event that Adam Stenavich leave.
Green Bay Packers Fans Are Enraged that Rich Bisaccia Received a Contract Extension
The other coaching announcement that LaFleur made, per Silverstein, is that special teams coordinator/assistant head coach Rich Bisaccia received a contract extension. 2025 was the last year of his current deal:
“Bisaccia, one of the highest-paid special teams coordinators in the NFL, had one year remaining on his contract, according to a source. It is believed another year was added, guaranteeing that Bisaccia, 64, would have plenty of incentive to stick around at least two more years.
“There were league sources who said there were rumblings that Bisaccia might retire, but the new deal assures he’ll return as special teams coordinator and LaFleur’s game management adviser.”
Siverstein notes that, by many metrics, Green Bay’s special teams have been among the worst in the NFL under Bisaccia. Fans know this well, and were not happy to hear he had gotten an extension:

I was having a good day! What has Rich done to deserve a promotion & an extension? https://t.co/DXXM2S0p9I

Extends WHO?! https://t.co/Ui5Yf6ivaY

We have been terrible on special teams. Dead last in the NFL and what does Matt do extend him???? Idk about this https://t.co/pstDa07BqQ

Obviously, Bisaccia must be doing much more for LaFleur as an assistant head coach than whatever he is doing on special teams. That being said, that unit will be judged even more harshly by fans in 2025 because of the extension.
