The Green Bay Packers will have to make some interesting business decisions with the roster this offseason. One player who could potentially be released this offseason is cornerback Jaire Alexander.

Alexander has missed a ton of games over the last two seasons because of injuries and it is one of the reasons why Green Bay will want to move on from him. He did not speak to the media after the 2024 season concluded when they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Wild Card Round. The Green Bay Packers may release some other players before the 2025 season begins.
Clutch Points Has Luke Musgrave As a Cut Candidate For the Green Bay Packers Before the 2025 Season Begins

Luke Musgrave was a second-round pick (42nd overall selection) in the 2023 NFL Draft from the Oregon State Beavers. Musgrave was the starting tight end entering the 2024 season until he got injured once again and Tucker Kraft took over the starting tight end role permanently.
Clutch Points writer Jaren Kawada thinks that Luke Musgrave could be one of three Packers on the current roster who could be released before the start of the 2025 NFL season. Kawada said:
“Despite missing six games in 2023, Musgrave entered his second year as the Packers’ starting tight end. Instead of building on his initial success, the Oregon State alum missed even more games in 2024 and eventually lost the job to Tucker Kraft. Once he returned from his 10-game absence in Week 15, Musgrave did not see higher than a 26.2 percent snap share over the final three weeks of the regular season.
In the seven games he played in 2024, Musgrave tallied just 45 total receiving yards, averaging a paltry 6.4 yards per game. Those numbers are poor for even the most prominent run-blocking specialists. Even at his current salary, players who spend as much time on injured reserve as Musgrave are more significant contributors than he is to warrant a roster spot.
Entering his third year, Musgrave is now a distant second option behind Kraft. He is not enough of an asset as a blocker to warrant more snaps, further limiting his role. Still on his rookie contract, Musgrave is not a big hit to the Packers’ cap but brings almost no additional value to the team, making him a cut candidate in the 2025 NFL offseason. He could be one of the team’s final training camp releases in the fall.”
It would be crazy for the Green Bay Packers to give up on him so soon. Yes, he has had injuries over the last two seasons, but Luke Musgrave could still be a reliable second tight end behind Tucker Kraft. The Packers have no plans to draft a tight end this offseason unless they decide to shock the fanbase and do so.
Musgrave is 24 years old and maybe the Packers still have hope that they could use a two-tight end set with him and Tucker Kraft. Luke Musgrave being released would be shocking.
Tucker Kraft Emerged As #1 Tight End

When the 2024 season began, there was not much separation between Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave for the Green Bay Packers at the tight end position. Kraft separated himself as the number one tight end for this franchise and soon could be one of the top tight ends in the league. Tucker Kraft caught 50 passes for 707 yards receiving and seven touchdowns, along with averaging 14.1 yards per reception.
Kraft was targeted 70 times last season. He will be the starting tight end moving forward for the Packers and he earned himself a second contract, but there is still some time for Luke Musgrave to make an impact in this offense.
