Kevin Porter Jr. seems to have found a great home with the Milwaukee Bucks as he became an instant contributor to the team following a trade that got him landing to Wisconsin from the Los Angeles Clippers.
KPJ scored 11 points in 14 minutes in his team’s come back win over the Miami Heat and hit important shots. He started the fourth quarter hot by getting involved in the Bucks’ first 11 points. He had seven straight points sandwiched by two assists to give his team a 97-95 lead.
That’s the kind of game Porter Jr. has been having ever since making his debut on February 10 against the Warriors. He has been serving as their extra firepower and additional scoring option for Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard.
He has scored in double digits in his last four games.
He, along with Kyle Kuzma, has given the Bucks more flexibility in the offense while also being a reliable playmaker that keeps the defense in check whether their top duo are on the floor or not.

So how did KPJ got comfortable with the Bucks way quicker than expected? The 24-year-old point guard said it was the team’s two leaders who helped him get settled in.
Antetokounmpo recently praised KPJ for his stellar plays against the Washington Wizards. He is of the same opinion with the Bucks community that they got a steal in the trade deadline in KPJ.
KPJ thought it is huge that the team embraced him with open arms.
“I soon as I came here I felt very welcome. They welcome me as me. They didn’t want me to be anyone else. That’s big. That’s huge. I think that’s what Giannis was trying to get to. He’s a great leader. Dame’s a great leader.”
KPJ also recalled how Dame was among the first to contact him when the news of him coming to Milwaukee broke down and how that affected his mentality as a newcomer.
“Dame reached out to me. It’s different. I believe this game is 80 percent mental and 20 percent physical. The NBA is filled with so many athletes,” he said.
“But mentally if you can hold on to how the business is or how the games is and everything like that, then you’re really gonna be successful, especially when you got people like Giannis, Dame. Doc [Rivers] and a winning organization, the fan base.”
