The Green Bay Packers are 9-3 after defeating the Miami Dolphins on Thanksgiving by the score of 30-17. Green Bay has now won three consecutive games, all coming after their Bye Week, since losing to the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field.
Saying it is fortunate that a team won sounds disrespectful to the hard work that the players put into winning the game, but it is a good thing that Green Bay won considering that, earlier in the day, the Lions defeated the Chicago Bears to improve to 11-1 on the season. On Sunday, former Packers running back Aaron Jones and the Minnesota Vikings improved to 10-2 on the season.
With the fourth-best record in the NFC, the Packers currently hold the second wild card spot (the sixth seed). If they are to improve their standing in the conference, they need to win their remaining five games, as contests against both the Lions and Vikings await them.
The Detroit Lions Signed Jamal Adams Ahead of Matchup with the Green Bay Packers
The Packers will face a tough challenge in Week 14 of the 2024 NFL season when they take on the 11-1 Lions on the road. Detroit won the first matchup 24-14 at Lambeau Field. If Green Bay hopes to have a reasonable shot at winning the division, Thursday’s game is a must-win.
The Lions have added some help on defense, signing three-time Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams on Sunday:
Former Pro-Bowl safety Jamal Adams is signing with the Lions practice squad with the idea that he’ll be elevated to Detroit’s roster, per source. Adams had been eyeing an opportunity with a playoff contender.

As Adam Schefter of ESPN notes, Adams was signed to the Lions practice squad with the expectation that he will be added to their active roster on Thursday when the Packers come to town.
Adams previously played for the Tennessee Titans this season, appearing in three games before he was placed on injured reserve, then the non-football injury list, and finally released.
He faced the Packers earlier this year when Green Bay defeated the Titans 30-14 in Week Three. While Adams started that game, he only played 17 snaps (27% of defensive plays).
Indeed, Adams did not see the field much in Tennessee. He has been targeted in the passing game twice and gave up a reception each time.
