Packers: Injury Report Reveals Jaire Alexander and One Other Key Player Joined Weekend Practice; 2 Other Players Remain Hurt

The Green Bay Packers gear up for what could be their biggest challenge yet this season as they visit National Football Conference leaders Detroit Lions and good thing for them, they found a new inspiration as Jaire Alexander returns to practice.

The latest injury report from Green Bay revealed that Alexander joined scrimmages after missing the last two games including the win over the Miami Dolphins during Thanksgiving.

This is a welcoming news for Packers as some thought it was a huge concern. On November 18, NFL insider Ian Rapoport said that it was not anything serious.

Another reinforcement that could be available on the December 6 game is wide receiver Romeo Doubs. Packers reporter Wes Hodkiewicz wrote:

CB Jaire Alexander (knee) & WR Romeo Doubs (concussion protocol) both returned to practice.

LB Edgerrin Cooper (hamstring) was on the bike & CB Corey Ballentine (knee) was working with trainers off to the side.

Alexander tore his PCL on Week 8 in win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Guys who stepped up for him are Keisean Nixon, Carrington Valentine, and Eric Stokes.

The weekend is not exactly perfect for the Packers as two more players are still unsure for the weekend game.

Per Hodkiewicz, the two players not practicing were linebacker Edgerrin Cooper, who has a hamstring injury and has missed back-to-back games, and cornerback Corey Ballentine, who injured his knee on the opening kickoff on Thursday night.

The practice report is just that. It is not an assurance that Alexander and Doubs will suit up against the Lions.

Coach Matt LaFleur will participate in a media day to discuss the injury report while final playing status designations will only be submitted by Wednesday.
