The Green Bay Packers and Jordan Love did not see their 2024 season end the way that they had hoped. Green Bay looked outmatched on offense and special teams all afternoon long in their 22-10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. While the defense did a fine job of limiting the Eagles offense following costly Packers turnovers, they also could not generate any turnovers of their own.
Love, for his part, was simply not good in this game. He finished his night with 20 completions in 33 passing attempts, 212 yards, no touchdowns, and three interceptions. Of course, he entered the game without one of his top wide receivers in Christian Watson, who tore his ACL in Week 18. During the game, Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed both got injured as well.
Not only that, but left guard Elgton Jenkins was knocked out of the game with a shoulder injury, and Josh Myers suffered a brutal leg injury in the final minutes of the contest.
Still, many fans are not patient and take Packers losses as personal attacks on themselves, their families, and their livelihoods.
Green Bay Packers Fans Want to Move on From Jordan Love
These fans, many of whom were not happy when the Packers drafted Love to begin with, are hoping that the organization will get rid of their starting quarterback this offseason:
@packers @PGPackersNews repeat after me, fire Matt LaFleur and trade Jordan love FIRE MATT LAFLEUR AND TRADE JORDAN LOVE

Trade the fraud Jordan Love.

Packers just wasted a good defense.
Matt LaFluer should be fired tomorrow.
Trade Jordan Love for some draft picks he trash too.

I promise you packers are better with Malik Willis… he doesn’t turn it over. And his threat to run changes this offense. I’ve been trying to tell you guys…

Of course, the Packers think differently as they just gave Love a four-year $220 million contract. Even if Green Bay wanted to get rid of Love after a bad postseason performance (remember, Brett Favre once threw six interceptions in a postseason game), it would be nearly impossible to move that contract.
Former Green Bay Packers Offensive Lineman Mark Tauscher Makes a Definitive Statement on Jordan Love’s Future
During the postgame show on ESPN Milwaukee, former Packers offensive lineman Mark Tauscher sent a clear message to fans that want to get rid of Love:
“Jordan Love is our franchise quarterback. Period.” @MarkTauscher65 https://t.co/1IvoITyivI pic.twitter.com/Jv2uIRQ6SA
— ESPN Milwaukee (@ESPNMilwaukee) January 13, 2025
“Jordan Love is our franchise quarterback. Period. Fin,” Tauscher said. He did add though, “He has to play better than what we saw this year.”
When Homer asked him for how long Love will be the franchise quarterback, Tauscher responded, “We’re not there yet. We’re not doing that.”
Love certainly did not play his best football this year. However, it is important to remember that he was playing injured for most of the first half of the season and his offense suffered multiple injuries.
Hopefully 2025 sees more healthy play, an improved wide receiver room, and a more disciplined offensive line (and quarterback).
