Green Bay Packers fans have to be smiling after seeing Jordan Love put in an eye-opening performance in his first game as the team’s new QB1. Simply put, there’s no replacing Aaron Rodgers, but Love did enough in Green Bay’s massive Week 1 win against their bitter rivals, the Chicago Bears, to prove that he has what it takes to be the Packers’ cornerstone quarterback for the years to come.
The Best is Yet to Come From Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love

There has been a lot of talk about Love’s opening salvo, which included no less than three touchdowns and a very impressive 120-plus rating. However, even Love himself is adamant that this is just the first step for himself and the Packers:
“It’s definitely just a building block,” Love said, via Mike Spofford of the team website. “It’s just the start of the season. It’s a long season, a lot of games to be played.
“You never every try and get complacent out there.”

Clearly, Love is not resting on his laurels. The first-game jitters are now out of the way, and he’s done more than enough to silence the naysayers. However, now is when the hard part starts. The 24-year-old set a high bar for himself, which means that the expectations are going to be high the rest of the way. For his part, it is also clear that Jordan Love is not shying away from any of it.
Matt LaFleur Issues Strong Challenge for Jordan Love

Speaking of high expectations, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur is already looking forward to more of the same from his new QB1. LaFleur was pleased with what he saw from Love in the season opener, but at this point, the Green Bay shot-caller expects his quarterback to take it a notch higher in the coming weeks:
“This game is all about consistency,” LaFleur said. “You’ve got to build upon a solid performance.”
If there’s one thing we know about Jordan Love, it’s that he’s certainly capable of living up to the lofty expectations of LaFleur as well as that of the rest of the football world.
