The Green Bay Packers made a move today that will directly impact QB Jordan Love. The Packers were one of the best teams in the league during the latter half of the 2023 season. They went 7-3 in their final 10 games of the season, which included a dominant win over the #2 seed Dallas Cowboys in NFC Wild Card matchup.
Heading into 2024, the Packers are doing all they can to put Love in the best situation possible to succeed. That was evident today with their latest signing.
The Green Bay Packers Sign Help For Jordan Love
According to the Packers official website:
The Green Bay Packers have signed T Andre Dillard. The transaction was announced Thursday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.
Dillard (6-5, 315), a sixth-year player out of Washington State, was originally selected in the first round (No. 22 overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. After four years in Philadelphia (2019-22), he spent last season with the Tennessee Titans (2023). Overall, Dillard has played in 59 regular-season games with 19 starts.
In 2023, he tied his career high with 16 games played and set a career mark with 10 starts. He has also played in five postseason contests in his career. In college, Dillard played in 42 games with 39 starts and was a two-time All-Pac-12 selection. He will wear No. 73 for the Packers.
Packers Looking To Help Jordan Love In Every Way Possible
The Packers have a lot to look forward to with their young offense. Led by Jordan Love, the Packers broke records with their first and second year receivers in 2023. The future is certainly bright for this group.
However, keeping Jordan Love upright will be the number one priority for as long as he is under center.
While the Packers let Aaron Jones go, they brought in 26-year-old Josh Jacobs which further confirmed that the team is continuing to build for the future.
The team may even add a weapon for Love in the form of another running back or wide receiver.
