The Green Bay Packers are entering a grueling final stretch of the season that will determine their seeding in the NFC Playoffs, and could be getting one of the defense’s most vital playmakers back on the field for Sunday night’s clash against the Seattle Seahawks.
When the Packers released this week’s initial injury report, Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander was listed as a full participant in practice, which is a major step in the right direction as he looks to return from a knee injury.
Alexander has missed five games this season, and his return against the likes of Seahawks receivers D.K. Metcalf and Jaxson Smith-Njigba could be a major boon for defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley and the Packers’ secondary.
Despite battling through injuries, Alexander has intercepted two passes this season, to go with seven pass breakups and one fumble recovery.
If Green Bay’s defense is going to take a big step as the postseason looms, Alexander would likely need to figure into playing a starring role.
