The Green Bay Packers are expected to be busy in free agency. Given their history under General Manager Brian Gutekunst, this expectation is likely to come to fruition. When observing the Packers 2023-24 campaign, it was clear that one position had a lot of room for growth. That position is safety.
Under new defensive coordinator and former Boston College head coach Jeff Hafley, the position will need major upgrades to perform to the Super Bowl expectations placed upon the team. With a full free agency class at the position, fans are waiting with open ears for any potential signings. Thanks to sports commentator Kay Adams, we received some early probing for one of the Green Bay Packers’ top candidates for the position.
Xavier McKinney Talks Packers
Fans of the Packers have questioned Xavier McKinney’s willingness to join the Green Bay Packers. Particularly given the fact that he has a history with a new member of the Packers coaching staff (Derrick Ansley.) While fans speculate, Kay Adams gifted them a gem on her show ” Up & Adams” asking free agent Xavier McKinney the questions they all wanted answered.

He details how he is “intrigued” by the idea of talking with the Packers, given his history with former recruiter and DB coach Derrick Ansley. This is a big break for the Green Bay Packers, as this assures that they will have a foot in the door of conversations with star Xavier McKinney.
In contrast, see how he reacts to the idea of joining his NFC East rival Philidelphia Eagles.
After spending his first four seasons as a Giant… could Xavier McKinney see himself playing in Philly? 🤔

When asked about wearing an Eagles jersey his visceral reaction was to shake his head no, his first word being “Nah.” It will be very clear to the fans of Philidelphia that it is unlikely he will be joining them in Pennsylvania.
Mckinney has been one of the strongest players in his position since drafting. Coming off a career year with an impressive 87.8 PFF grade, the young star will be on the radar for nearly every team not equipped with an elite backline of defense. The second-rounder out of Alabama is coming out of his rookie contract. likely looking to be on top of the market for safeties in terms of yearly pay.
