The Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers parted ways this past off-season after 18 years. While the move seemed “necessary” for both sides, it hasn’t been without its growing pains for the Packers. That being said, it hasn’t been east for Rodgers this year either as he has been out since Week One.
However, Rodgers made a pretty surprising announcement on Sunday Night that had fans reacting all over social media.
Former Green Bay Packers Quarterback Makes Crazy Announcement Prior To Sunday Night Football
Paolo Songco of Wisconsin Sports Heroics first reported the announcement for our site:
Speaking to Melissa Stark of the NFL Network, Rodgers revealed on Sunday that his intention is to come back by mid-December:
“I know it sounds insane, but if you do a good surgery, have a good patient, it makes this possible,” he said (h/t Ari Merov on Twitter).
Rodgers’ return to the field has been gaining momentum ever since he declared that he had every intention of returning this season. Not only did he erase any and all doubt about this torn Achilles potentially being a career-ending injury but now, the four-time All-Pro QB has shattered the supposed recovery timetable for such a severe injury.
Packers Fans Are In Disbelief Over Rodgers Trying To Come Back In Mid-December
When Rodgers went down with his torn Achilles injury, not only was it assumed he was going to be out for the year, but many questioned the future of his career. To find out that he has a goal to return well before this season is over, many fans were shocked… to say the least:
No way man

A 3 month return form achilles tear is wild

I 100% belive the conspiracy he’s not actually hurt they just don’t want to give the FRP because there’s no shot he’s back that fast right? Right?
— Yonkey Donk (@YonkeyDonk) November 13, 2023
Reactions varied from conspiracy theories that he was never really injured, to him receiving “super serum,” to many other wild accusations. Cam Akers set the original standard for Achilles injuries. Following his injury during July training camp, Akers returned to play for the Rams just five and a half months later. As part of Los Angeles’ Super Bowl 56 campaign, he rushed 72 times over four games.
Rodgers would shatter that timeline if he did in-fact come back by December.
