Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore is hoping to ruin the Green Bay Packers season with a win on Sunday and it is something they have not done against Green Bay in quite some time. A win for Green Bay means they make the playoffs and a loss means they most likely miss the playoffs.
The Packers lost their season finale last season against the Detroit Lions at home also and missed the playoffs. Green Bay hopes it doesn’t happen for the second consecutive season as they have won nine consecutive games against the Chicago Bears (7-8).
DJ Moore told 670 the score in Chicago about how it would feel to beat Green Bay in Week 18:
“It would feel great because, like I said, they came in and beat us. So we want to go there and get a win there and upset (their) playoff hopes. We want to get back because we lost (to them) at home, so now we want to go to their home and take it over — and it would just add something more special to it by not letting them get to the playoffs.”
Green Bay Packers Defense Needs To Limit the DJ Moore Damage
The Packers’ defense will need to slow down DJ Moore if they are going to get to the playoffs this season. Moore this season has caught 92 passes for 1,300 yards and eight touchdowns and has averaged 14.1 yards per catch and has been targeted 130 times this season by Fields.
Back in Week 1, he only had two receptions for 25 yards receiving. DJ Moore is a much different receiver than he is now. He has been over 100 yards receiving five times this season. Moore caught nine passes for 159 yards receiving and a touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons in their 37-17 win.
He was targeted 13 times by quarterback Justin Fields and averaged 17.7 yards per reception. Chicago has won their last four of five games. The Green Bay Packers defense has been suspect at times down the stretch. They must account for him at all times and hopefully, cornerback Jaire Alexander is available for this matchup to guard him and make him eat his words.
