The Green Bay Packers have never hosted the NFL Draft, but they will be in 2025. On Monday, the dates were announced for the 2025 NFL Draft, which will take place from April 24-26 at Lambeau. The NFL Draft is presented by Bud Light.
The Packers’ rivals, the Detroit Lions, will host the NFL Draft in 2024 from April 25-27. Kansas City hosted the draft in 2023, and it is home to the Kansas City Chiefs, the defending Super Bowl LVII Champions. Green Bay is thrilled that they will be hosting the NFL Draft in 2025.
Alex Brooke, the NFL Senior Director of events Business Strategy announced at a press conference on Monday at the Lambeau Field Atrium about the 2025 NFL Draft being in Green Bay, Wisconsin:
“The NFL Draft presented by Bud Light has become one of the biggest, most-anticipated sporting events of the year and we’re looking forward to the incredible experience Green Bay will offer our prospects, their families and all the fans. Green Bay is an amazing football destination, with the area’s unique heritage and connection with fans across the country. Green Bay will provide a unique backdrop for fans who’ve always wanted to visit and a welcome back to fans who know and love it.”
This should be an exciting time for the Packers fanbase, who has never experienced the NFL Draft in their own town before. It will be very interesting to see what the state of the franchise is by then. Green Bay is one of the best NFL towns.
Green Bay Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy Speaks about the 2025 NFL Draft
Green Bay Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy also spoke about the Packers hosting the 2025 NFL Draft on Monday. He said during the press conference on Monday about the event:
“With the dates now set, we’re excited to ramp up our planning and continue collaborating with our community partners and donors to bring this event to life. Hosting the NFL Draft will have an enormous impact statewide, attracting fans and visitors from around the world and creating an extraordinary economic impact. We’re looking forward to seeing Green Bay and Wisconsin shine on a world stage with the attention of millions.”
The offseason for that year could be very busy for Murphy. Along with the Packers hosting the NFL Draft, there could also be changes within the organization as well. Green Bay currently has a 3-5 record this year and is on pace to miss the playoffs for the second consecutive season.
General manager Brian Gutekunst and head coach Matt LaFleur can very well get a pass for this season. However, if they are kept for the 2024 season and if things don’t change during that season, it is possible that Murphy is also looking for a new head coach and general manager that offseason as well.
The NFL Draft in 2025 will make Mark Murphy busy enough. However, this announcement of the Green Bay Packers hosting the NFL Draft should be a fun time.
