The Green Bay Packers worked out some exciting athletes.
The Green Bay Packers continue to explore options to improve their roster. The Packers are getting ready to play the Minnesota Vikings in Week One this Sunday. While the team dropped their unofficial depth chart Tuesday, the Packers looked at several possible players to add to the practice squad.
On Tuesday, the Packers worked out four athletes: defensive tackle Kevin Atkins, defensive back Darrell Baker, defensive back Olaijah Griffin, and wide receiver KeeSean Johnson.

Johnson was a former college standout
Johnson is an intriguing name on the list. In college, he was considered an all-time great wide receiver for Fresno State. Johnson broke the school’s record for catches and receiving yards. One alumn that Johnson surpassed at Fresno State was former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams. (Ironically, Johnson was working out Tuesday for the position unit trying to find answers to replace Adams.)
Johnson was drafted in the sixth round of the 2019 draft by the Arizona Cardinals. He didn’t have the same success with the Cardinals as he did in college. Johnson has 360 receiving yards and one touchdown in his NFL career. The Cardinals waived Johnson in 2021. The Atlanta Falcons most recently waived him in August.
Johnson would be an exciting addition to the Packers practice squad, especially if he can get in sync with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He has shown he has the tools to be a great wide receiver. Johnson might get to prove it with an elite quarterback.
