The Green Bay Packers will be hosting the 2025 NFL Draft. With the Packers in offseason mode, it will be interesting to see what positions they will address in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Some of the Green Bay Packers’ needs this offseason are cornerback, defensive line, and finding a number-one wide receiver for quarterback Jordan Love. There is a chance that the Packers could find some defensive talent in the draft from the Georgia Bulldogs. They took cornerback Eric Stokes from Georgia in the 2021 NFL Draft.
The 33rdteam Has the Green Bay Packers Selecting Georgia Bulldogs Defensive Lineman Mykel Williams In the Latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft
Kyle Crabbs of the33rdteam.com created his latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft. With the 23rd overall pick in the 2025 draft, he has the Green Bay Packers selecting Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Mykel Williams from the Georgia Bulldogs. Williams completed his junior season with Georgia and is 6’5″ and weighs 265 lbs.
Crabbs said about the Packers making this pick:
“The Packers’ season unceremoniously came to an end in Philadelphia on Sunday night with a disappointing showing against the Eagles. Turnovers were a big piece of the puzzle and as much as four turnovers on offense hurt, not getting any on defense compounded the challenge. The Packers’ pass rush unit getting some more bite may help; as Rashan Gary was the only defender who finished the season with more than five sacks on the year. Mykel Williams has impressive length and easy power at his disposal — he’d be a great addition on the edge as the Packers try to get over the hump.”
Finding a pass rusher is what the Green Bay Packers desperately need. Mykel Williams recorded 21 tackles, five sacks, two forced fumbles, and one pass deflection this past season with the Bulldogs. Williams has the talent to be a pass rusher in the NFL.
Other Defensive Help
Outside of potentially drafting Mykel Williams in the first round this season, there is also a chance that the Packers draft a cornerback in the 2025 NFL Draft. It would be surprising if Green Bay did not draft defensive help in the first round of the NFL draft this year.
Williams no question will be a first-round pick. If he is still on the board by the time that the Packers are on the board, he will no doubt be in consideration depending on the other moves that Green Bay will make during the offseason.
