“I Want To Come Back” Packers See Free Agent Announce He Wants To Return To Team (Breaking)

The Green Bay Packers knew that making the decision to move on from Aaron Rodgers in favor of Jodan Love was a risky move.  The direction their franchise would take was up in the air and Rodgers was on his way to New York to compete for a championship (or so everyone thought at the time).

A few years later, free agents are asking to be signed by Green Bay.

The Green Bay Packers may have one of the toughest free agents in football fighting to come back to Lambeau:

Josh Myers vomited during a game against the Indianapolis Colts back in Week 2 — and didn’t leave the field.

Myers played the final six games of the year with a torn pectoral minor — and never left the field.

And Myers played the final eight games with a brace on his left wrist — and didn’t leave the field.

Now, he’s hoping not to leave Green Bay.

Myers, the Packers’ starting center since 2021, becomes an unrestricted free agent on March 12. Up until now, the Packers haven’t shown much interest in re-signing Myers.

Myers hopes that changes, though, after a season in which he battled through a bevy of injuries — including a tibia/fibula injury in the Packers’ season-ending loss to Philadelphia — and still played winning football.

“I would love to be here. I love it here,” said Myers, who didn’t think his injury against the Eagles would be long term. “I love the people. It’s a wonderful team, a wonderful organization. I’d absolutely love to be here.”

Whether the Packers feel the same way remains to be seen.

Myers played 1,091 of 1,094 snaps (99.73%) in 2022, more than any of Green Bay’s offensive lineman. Myers held off a challenge from both Sean Rhyan and Zach Tom in the summer of 2023, then had his best season playing 1,089 snaps (99.4%) — more than anyone on the roster.

Myers has been a model of consistency with Green Bay:

As someone who broke both tibia and fibula as a teenager, I say keep him. The unbridled dedication to have those injuries, and say, “It’s only a flesh wound!”, so he can help his team, is amazing. The total energy of, “try to stop me from playing!”, is something every franchise should want from all their players!
