The highly anticipated NFC North rivalry between the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions was on display in the first half. When the Packers were trailing 7-3 in the second quarter against the Lions, Jordan Love threw a pass intended for Bo Melton.
On the play, Lions safety Brian Branch made helmet-to-helmet contact with Packers wide receiver Bo Melton. It was so egregious that Branch was ejected from the game and was penalized 15 yards. When he was leaving the field, Brian Branch also gave two middle fingers and there was another 15-yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Green Bay Packers Fans React To Detroit Lions Safety Brian Branch Being Ejected
It is not a shock that the Lions and Packers game has had a high temperature in the first half despite it raining at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Green Bay fans were bashing the Lions star safety for being ejected from the game because of his penalty on Bo Melton. This is what they said:
Good. See ya

Brian Branch’s quick exit: Was it an overzealous call or was he channeling his inner NFL ninja? Either way, he’s got the fastest half-time exit ever!

Replay center determined that the hit was ejection worthy

Hey I respect it, a bears player would’ve done it during the play.

Typical Lions dirty player.

On that drive, the Green Bay Packers missed a field goal in the rain. Also, it will be interesting to see if Brian Branch will either get fined or suspended for the hit and the other thing he did after he was ejected from the game.
Packers Trailed 17-3 At the Half
The Packers gaining 30 yards on penalties may have been the only positive highlights for the Packers offense against the Lions in the first half. Green Bay’s offense has looked sloppy in rainy conditions against the Lions’ defense even without them having Brian Branch for part of the first half.
There will probably be more comments from Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell after the game about the Branch ejection against the Packers. Matt LaFleur could very well have some comments about it as well.
