Back in the 2022 NFL offseason, the Chicago Bears hired away Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Luke Getsy to be their offensive coordinator. To replace Getsy, and to appease Aaron Rodgers, Matt LaFleur convinced Tom Clements to come out of retirement.
Clements came out of retirement to coach Rodgers for one more season and to help Jordan Love take the final steps in his development as the Packers next franchise quarterback. In doing so, he became the only coach in NFL history to work with Brett Favre, Rodgers, and Love.
Green Bay Packers Quarterbacks Coach Tom Clements Retired (Again)
Earlier this offseason, Clements announced to the team that he was retiring, again. LaFleur had previously hired Getsy back onto his staff as a defensive assistant after the former Packers coach was fired as the offensive coordinator of the Las Vegas Raiders.
According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, LaFleur plans on having Getsy on his staff again in 2025. However, whether or not it will as quarterbacks coach remains to be seen.
Luke Getsy is expected to land back on the Packers’ coaching staff in some capacity, but perhaps there’s room for Slowik, too, as LaFleur looks to replace retiring QB caoch Tom Clements.

Indeed, there are plenty of qualified candidates, both within and outside of the organization, that could be hired to the role and do a great job.
However, Packers fans have their eyes on one of their former players who just became available.
Green Bay Packers Fans Want the Team to Hire Scott Tolzien
Scott Tolzien, a former Wisconsin Badgers quarterback, was a backup for the Packers from 2013-2015. After his playing career ended, he began his coaching career back in Madison an analyst in 2019.
When Mike McCarthy was hired as the Dallas Cowboys head coach, though, he lured the former Badgers and Packers quarterback away and made him a coaching assistant.
In 2023, Tolzien was promoted to quarterbacks coach. Now that McCarthy is gone and Brian Schottenheimer is the new head coach, though, he is a coaching free agent.
And fans in Green Bay want him to come home:

It will be interesting to see who Green Bay settles on as their quarterback coach next season. They also need to find a new defensive line coach.
