Last offseason, Davante Adams decided he wanted to play with his college teammate Derek Carr in Las Vegas instead of staying in Green Bay. Yesterday when Carr was benched he took to social media to voice his opinion.

Before posting on social media, Davante Adams spoke to reporters at his locker about the decision by Josh McDaniels.

“Obviously, I don’t think anybody was excited about it in here,” Adams said of Carr’s benching. “Him being one of my really good friends and the reason why I came here in the first place. I wouldn’t be here right now if he wasn’t here”

    What’s Next for Davante Adams?

    Davante Adams and Derrick Carr

For now, Adams has two games remaining as a Raider this season barring some unforeseen release. One thing he made very clear in both his Instagram post and his locker room interview is that he was in Vegas for Derek Carr. The two have been close friends since playing together in college and finally got the chance to do so in the NFL.

Leaving Green Bay was not an easy decision for Adams. He spoke earlier in the year about how uncertainty by Aaron Rodgers on his playing future was a factor. It is clear at this point that Adams wants to play with a quarterback he trusts. Otherwise, he could have chosen to go anywhere in the NFL. He instead chose a 10-7 Raiders team that snuck into the playoffs. At this point it would be safe to assume that if Derek Carr’s time in Vegas is over, so is Adams’.

The Raiders are currently 6-9 and on the outside looking in to the postseason. Meanwhile the Packers are fighting with a realistic shot at a playoff appearance. Despite a rough season for the Raiders, and Derek Carr leading the league in interceptions, Adams has still posted great numbers. He has 1,290 yards, good for fifth best in the NFL.

Adams made an incredibly poor and very costly decision. In all likelihood it will cost him a Super Bowl ring. Dumba**.

I mean I’m a rated fan for life but man they make some really really bad decisions and make it hard to be a raiders fan first of all you should have never got rid of gruden secondly get the hell get McDaniels out of there car should have never left I mean he’s brought you guys through some pretty difficult times with nothing on it on the plate other than him at quarterback and a couple of scattered pieces that was bullshit move and now you’re going to end up losing devonte here pretty quick if you don’t fucking pay attention and fix this….

Truth, McDaniels is an idiot, and benching Carr is going to have the Raiders back at 4-13 next year. Gruden was the best thing that happened to that team. I hope Carr goes someplace like Seattle where he can win. Same ole, same ole in LV.
