The Cincinnati Bengals had one of the worst defenses in the NFL a season ago. Despite having an electric offense being led by Joe Burrow, they missed the playoffs with a 9-8 record.

Cincinnati’s focus this offseason will be trying to find defensive players through different avenues. One player who could interest the Bengals is Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander. The Packers are looking to potentially trade him before the start of the 2025 season.
Cincyjungle.com Writer Dadio Makdook Thinks That the Cincinnati Bengals Should Pursue a Trade For Green Bay Packers Cornerback Jaire Alexander

Cincyjungle.com writer Dadio Makdook wrote about whether or not the Bengals could pursue the Packers star player in a trade this offseason. Cincinnati will own the 17th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and the Bengals probably would not trade that away for Alexander, but a later round pick could do the trick. Makdook said about the possibility of Cincinnati making a trade for him:
“The Cincinnati Bengals’ defense struggled mightily last year.
There weren’t any stars on that side of the ball other than Trey Hendrickson.
If the team wants to add another high-potential player, presumably for a low price, they could engage with the Green Bay Packers on trade talks for two-time All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander.
Ian Rapoport reported today that Green Bay is open to trading the 28-year-old Alexander.”
Trey Hendrickson led the league in sacks last season with 17.5 sacks, but they had no other stars on the defensive side of the football. Going for Alexander would be the right idea for the Bengals because they no doubt need help in the secondary. It would be a little risky for them because they are banking on him to be healthy for most of the 2025 NFL season.
Cincinnati would also need to draft someone on the defensive side of the football in the 2025 NFL Draft with the 17th overall pick. There is a great chance that they would draft another cornerback or defensive lineman with that selection.
Would Make Sense For Both Parties

It is not a secret that the Bengals need to fix their defense in the offseason if they want to get back to the playoffs next season. Also, Green Bay needs to find the right trade partner for Alexander, whether that is Cincinnati or another team. The Cincinnati Bengals fanbase would be happy if they traded for him because they need to add more talented players to their defense.
