The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers have the longest-standing rivalry in NFL History. The first meeting between the two teams came on November 27th, 1921. Chicago Bears Safety Jaylon Johnson Makes Bold Claim About Justin Fields

According to Kenneth Teape of NFL Analysis:
This offseason, the Chicago Bears committed to the Ohio State product. He was selected by the previous regime in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft after a trade up with the New York Giants. Rumors swirled that Poles and head coach Matt Eberflus could opt to bring in a new young signal caller of their own, but they showed their confidence in Fields to continue developing.
Heading into Year 3, there are now some expectations surrounding Fields. Not only is a jump in his production expected, but the supporting cast around him is greatly improved. The Bears made upgrades not only to his pass-catching weapons but to the offensive line as well.
The time is now for the former Buckeye to really burst onto the scene. And, his teammates are confident that this will occur. Recently, cornerback Jaylon Johnson spoke about Fields being ready to take that next step after seeing him work out during the offseason.
“I expect him to shine,” Johnson said. “I think it’s one thing to come in rookie year and learn a new system then have to go into a new system. He never really got a chance to be comfortable. I think for him now he’s finally having a chance to get comfortable. He has some new guys. Everything’s in an upward projection for him.”
Shine? Justin Fields has a career record of 5-20 as a starting quarterback in the NFL. He has recorded a 59.7% career completion rate coupled with an average of 12 touchdown passes per season and 10.5 interceptions per season. Last season the Bears were good enough to land the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The Bears did end up trading away that first overall pick for four draft picks and WR D.J. Moore. The Bears, overall, had a positive off-season, but the writing has been on the wall for Justin Fields. The Green Bay Packers will open up their season on the road this year against the lowly Chicago Bears. The Packers will be putting their current eight game winning streak on the line on September 10th, 2023 at 3:25pm CT. It will be then, when the Green Bay Packers continue to show the Bears who owns this historic rivalry.
