The Milwaukee Bucks lost by 22 points against the New York Knicks the first time they met this season. This was the time they were down bad as a team. Giannis Antetokounmpo thinks they are a better team now.
Still, they lost. The two teams met again and the Bucks surrendered 140 points to finish the game down by 34 points. Jalen Brunson and Karl Anthony Towns combined for 74 points to frustrate their visitors.
Antetokounmpo did not mince words about their performance on Sunday. He said the Knicks played harder than them.
Three-point shooting is one of the main suspects in the team’s loss and Antetokounmpo pointed to the lack of insistence by the people on the floor when it comes to looking for their shots.
“You gotta compete. You gotta own your space. That got into us. They pushed us off our spots. We didn’t create for one another. It wasn’t GT or AJ Green. At the end of the day, we got to create a space for them,” the Greek Freak told reporters after the game.
Giannis Antetokounmpo on next 4 home games
The Bucks will have a chance to redeem themselves when they travel back to Milwaukee for a 4-game home stand.
What they need to do right in that stretch? Antetokounmpo put it simply – ‘We gotta win.’
The Bucks will face the surging Sacramento Kings who are on a 7-game winning streak and then have a rematch with the Orlando Magic not 24 hours after.
They then host the Toronto Raptors and and Philadelphia 76ers.
Antetokounmpo fall to sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings with the loss, having overtaken by the Orlando Magic and Indiana Pacers who won their respective games on Sunday.
