Christian Yelich played just 73 games in 2024 but that is enough for the Major League Baseball analysts to elevate his ranking compared for this year.

The annual Top 100 Players Right Now by the MLB Network’s production and research team has started and if you did not see Yelich’s name from the first batch, that is because you underestimated him.
For this year, he is ranked the 61st best player in the league. That is 11 spots higher compared to where he was from last season.
The ranking is quite a surprise given how he was not able to finish the season after being forced to undergo a season-ending back surgery in August.

His performance before that, however, is enough for him to get an All-Star nod, with some even saying he was back in his top form when he won the National League MVP award in 2018.
Yelich, who is still recovering from his surgery, finished 2024 with 11 home runs, 42 RBIs, 21 stolen bases. He also 12 doubles and slashed .315/.406/.504.

The Brewers appeared like they can go a long way in the postseason before Yelich went down.
That is because they have the talent, led by Yelich and Willy Adames who unfortunately is no longer with the team.
Adames is ranked by the MLB Network at no. 41 from going unranked last season.

He left the Brewers and recently signed with the San Francisco Giants for seven-year, $182 million contract. The agreement is currently the largest in Giants history.
The 29-year-old Dominican turned heads last season for his power and defense.
He recorded 87 homers in the last three seasons, which is the third most for a shortstop while his +20 Fielding Run Value over the number of season is fourth among players of his position, just behind Dansby Swanson (+45), Lindor (+25) ,and Ezequiel Tovar (+22).
