Behold the best statistical Milwaukee Brewers outfielder of the 2021 season, Avisail Garcia. Avi kept the team in the swing of things while being a dark horse cornerstone piece of The Crew’s offense this year. A crucial question to ask is if Milwaukee would even be in the playoffs without Avi. However, he did show up in the NLDS vs. Atlanta. He was an all-around great player in the clubhouse and on the field in the regular season.

Garcia has not performed this well since his All-Star season in 2017 with the Chicago White Sox. What may surprise you is that he was a better overall player than Christian Yelich in almost every stat category. Mind-boggling, I know. Yelich, as we know, has not been able to find his footing while battling injuries in recent years.
This did not look like a home run swing from Avisaíl García, but that's the game. pic.twitter.com/3Nbarjb5YX

Garcia, of course, is a year older than Yelich. It sure is disappointing he recently signed with the Miami Marlins. Milwaukee’s deep roster forced some tough decisions to be made. Players like Tyrone Taylor, Hunter Renfroe, and Corey Ray will most likely receive more playing time pending any acquisitions post-lockout. Avisail earned himself a trip to FA to make more than the Brewers could afford to give him. Miami is paying Garcia $12 million/year through 2026 – a bit much for an aging veteran outfielder. Still, Avi was a fan favorite and will surely be missed. Best of luck in Miami next season, Avisail Garcia!
