Davante Adams recently appeared in the Up & Adams show to discuss his partnership with Aaron Rodgers and the rumors of him retiring soon. According to the six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, it’ll be sad if this is the last season he’ll get to play with his long-time quarterback.
“I mean, it’ll be a sad thing for sure, but hopefully that’s not the case,” Adams said. “That’s why we gotta make the most of these ones that we have here… We had a decent showing last game and I do say decent because it’s not up to our standard of greatness, but it was definitely a step in the right direction.”
The New York Jets tried to turn their season around by acquiring Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders last October, but it hasn’t worked out. The team has a 3-10 record, so they’re no longer in contention for a playoff berth.
Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets are set to face the Jacksonville Jaguars, who also have a 3-10 win-loss card, in Week 15.
Aaron Rodgers-Davante Adams partnership with the New York Jets
Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams have formed one of the most dynamic duos in recent memory. They’ve scored their 79th career touchdown together during the New York Jets’ 32-26 Week 14 loss against the Miami Dolphins, the fourth-highest mark for a quarterback-wide receiver duo in NFL history.
Unfortunately for Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams, their partnership isn’t enough to get the New York Jets out of their hole. They could part ways this summer if the former leaves New York and Adams gets released (unless he restructures his hefty contract).
