It was March 8th, 2022 when Aaron Rodgers signed his massive three-year $150 million extension. Many fans hoped for a similar timeline this year when it came to the future of Aaron Rodgers.
As we approach April, still nothing has officially happened with the four-time MVP quarterback. Yes, Aaron Rodgers announced his intentions to play for the New York Jets in 2023, however, no trade has taken place yet. One former Green Bay Packers player and Super Bowl Champion publicly admitted that he was hurt by Aaron Rodgers’ decision.
James Jones Is Hurt By Aaron Rodgers Decision To Play For New York
Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver and Super Bowl XLV champion James Jones expressed his disappointment with Rodgers’ impending trade to the New York Jets. However, he is still happy that his four-time league MVP signal-caller decided against retirement, if not a return to Wisconsin.
On being asked about Aaron’s decision during the ‘Up & Adams’ show with host Kay Adams, James said, “I’m not surprised, but I’m hurt. When I talked to him in the off-season, it was all Green Bay talk.” Full video below:
Jones’ comment about Aaron Rodgers reportedly saying “it was all Green Bay talk” prior to his public announcement is pretty eye opening. Many thought that returning to the Packers, including James Jones, would be his number one choice.
