The Milwaukee Brewers’ cheesehead home run celebration became one of the best traditions in the MLB this season. However, the cheesehead has suddenly disappeared. The sudden disappearance of something that had become a staple of the team had many fans asking questions. On Tuesday, Adam McCalvy’s Brewers Beat newsletter revealed where the cheese went.
What happened to the Milwaukee Brewers cheesehead?
Adam McCalvy got to the bottom of the mystery in the Brewers Beat newsletter. The first person he talked to, like many would, was Willy Adames. Unfortunately, Adames couldn’t answer the question all the fans were asking, “Where is the cheesehead?”
“You’ve got to ask the right people”

Willy Adames is the spark in the clubhouse every day and is always the first to celebrate with his teammates. More often than not, he was the one crowning his teammates with the cheesehead. Adames seemed to claim ignorance of the reason for the disappearance of the cheese. McCalvy then spoke to Christian Yelich.
Yelich confirmed that the tradition has been put on pause, but declined to say exactly why. The cheesehead has been missing since the team’s trip to Atlanta where they were swept by the Braves who hold the best record in the National League.
“It could be the end of an era, we don’t know.”

However, there may be room for the cheesehead in the dugout down the road. The Milwaukee Brewers are currently in first place in the NL Central with a 1.5-game lead and the tiebreaker over the Cincinnati Reds. It is not impossible for the cheesehead to make a return should the Milwaukee Brewers make the postseason.
“I wouldn’t say it’s gone. It’s just questionable to return.”
-Christian Yelich to Adam McCalvy
