The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers are set to renew their rivalry on Sunday. It’s been a lopsided rivalry, as the Packers haven’t lost to the Bears since December of 2018. Per Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times, the Bears do not have a player on their active roster who has beaten the Packers as a member of Chicago.
Despite the Packers wanting to claim it’s not really a rivalry since only Green Bay wins anymore, their players sure do love to jaw at the Bears. This week, Packers cornerback Xavier McKinney took a shot at Bears wide receiver DJ Moore. McKinney called Moore out for limping to the bench during a play in Chicago’s 29-9 loss to the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium on Nov. 3.
Xavier McKinney went on the attack
“(Moore) is another one of those guys, same guy, play’s still going on and you walk off the field on your offense,” McKinney said, via Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. “You know, you take note of that. Everybody takes note of that and we see it and we’re going to work it accordingly.”
McKinney continued.
“This dude walked out on..I’ve been playing (NFL) football for five years now and I’ve been watching football for longer than that and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a..You’re supposed to be the guy and you’re just walking off the field. You’re walking off the field on a rookie quarterback that you’ve been praising, so it’s like, that’s a whole other story.”
Chicago Bears WR DJ Moore responded to McKinney
Moore said after the game he limped to the bench on the play after tweaking his ankle. Moore was made aware of McKinney’s comments this week. The veteran wide receiver gave his response, per Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times.
“Trash talk is trash talk,” said Moore. “We’ll see on Sunday what it all plays out to be.”

Moore has certainly had his frustrations with the Bears this season. He’s bashed the coaching staff for their decision-making in a loss to the Washington Commanders in Week 8. Many Bears fans thought he was behind the rumors of veteran players wanting Caleb Williams benched after their loss to the New England Patriots in Week 10.
The 27-year-old receiver has 398 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 40 catches this season. The 2018 Carolina Panthers first-round pick recorded 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns in 2023.
