The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears will meet for the first time in the 2024 NFL season on Sunday afternoon. While it is the first game the two teams will play against each other this year, it is just one more game in storied rivalry that dates back over 100 years.
And this contest is sure to be one that every fan will want to watch.
Of course, it is the first time that the Bears will face the Packers with the 2024 number one overall pick, Caleb Williams, as their quarterback. Green Bay, meanwhile, will look to continue their long winning streak against Chicago, who have not beaten them since before Matt LaFleur took over as head coach.
Even the changing of the guard under center, from Aaron Rodgers to Jordan Love, last season did not stop the Packers from sweeping their oldest division rivals.
Chicago Bears Wide Receiver DJ Moore Trashed Green Bay Packers Safety Xavier McKinney Before the Season
Prior to the season, the popular podcast “Up and Adams,” hosted by Kay Adams, had Bears wide receiver DJ Moore on as a guest.
During their segment together, Moore went out of his way to trash then newly signed Packers safety Xavier McKinney.
. @heykayadams said the Packers and Lions beefed up their secondaries.
DJ Moore’s response: “WHO?… oh that’s nice.”

Adams told Moore that it the Packers and Detroit Lions had both beefed up their secondaries with some good players.
“Who?” Moore asked.
When she mentioned McKinney on the Packers and how he felt about him being with Green Bay, Moore said, “That’s nice. I don’t feel no way about it. They’re just there.”
Since then, the Packers have gone 6-3 and McKinney has a share of the NFL lead in interceptions. The Bears, meanwhile, are 4-5 and Moore has come under fire for walking off of the field while his offense was still running a play, supposedly giving up on them.
Green Bay Packers Safety Xavier McKinney Throws Some Shade at DJ Moore
McKinney heard and has not forgotten the disrespect thrown his way by Moore before the season began. On Wednesday, he had some choice words for the Bears wide receiver, which he aired to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic:
“(Moore) is another one of those guys, same guy, play’s still going on and you walk off the field on your offense. You know, you take note of that. Everybody takes note of that and we see it and we’re going to work it accordingly.”
When asked if he thinks Moore knows who he (McKinney) is now, the Packers safety said:
“I hope so, but I don’t give a damn about what he knows. This dude walked out on … I’ve been playing (NFL) football for five years now and I’ve been watching football for longer than that and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a … You’re supposed to be the guy and you’re just walking off the field. You’re walking off the field on a rookie quarterback that you’ve been praising, so it’s like, that’s a whole other story.”
Moore claimed he walked off the field early because he hurt his ankle “Cap,” McKinney told Schneidman. “That’s what I say. Cap.”
For those unfamiliar, “cap” means “liar” or “that’s a lie.”
It sure looks like the matchup between Moore and Mckinney will be one to watch on Sunday.
