The Wisconsin football staff recently offered a scholarship to a player who arguably should already be a four-star athlete.
Nick Abrams II, a Maryland native and three-star recruit in the 2026 class, currently holds an 89-overall rating, just one point shy of a four-star rating. Abrams II noted that his scholarship offer was the first conversation he had with the Wisconsin football staff, but the recruit is excited for what is to come in the future.
Defensive Coordinator and one of the lead recruiters for Wisconsin, Mike Tressel, has been a key aspect to the recruitment of Abrams II. The talented linebacker received his tenth scholarship offer from the Badgers, and now holds offers from four Big Ten Conference teams. Maryland, Penn State, and Michigan State are the other three teams who have extended offers to the linebacker.
When asked about the initial interaction, Abrams II stated, “I’ve had a couple interactions here and there but that was the first real one. I am excited about Coach Tressel, he seems like a great coach and someone I would be excited to play for.” The linebacker also added, “I’m also excited that our first real conversation was the big news of telling me I’ve been offered a scholarship.”

As for what the talented defender is looking for in program, Abrams II stated, “I’m looking for a school that’s going to develop and elevate me into being the best player I can be.” The linebacker went on to add, “I want a school that is going to prepare me for life after football as well…connections that will set me up for a lifetime.”
Wisconsin Football Staff Extends Scholarship to Talented Linebacker Nick Abrams II
With the potential for Abrams II to join the Wisconsin football team set, the question becomes how can the recruit make an impact on the team.
Abrams II is more than just a linebacker on the field, but also a physical freak that truly needs to be watched each play. The linebacker is a lengthy rusher and holds a wingspan of 82-inches, which is rather impressive for his height of 6-feet-2-inches. Abrams II noted that his wingspan allows for him to “get off blocks and make tackles other players can’t.”
The linebacker is not just a big player either, but also a fast one as Abrams II has incredibly speed and a great ability to process what is ahead of him. The linebacker consistently makes excellent reads, and combined with his length, becomes a player that is extremely hard to get away from. Whether he needs to make a big hit, drop into coverage, or rush the quarterback, Abrams II is just the man to do so on the field.
