The Wisconsin football staff hosted a talented and speedy wide receiver from Illinois during the win over the Purdue Boilermakers.
Blaise LaVista, a 2026 wide receiver from Libertyville, was in attendance for the big blowout win over the Purdue Boilermakers team. LaVista currently holds three scholarship offers from Akron, Marshall, and Toledo, but hopes to secure an offer from the Wisconsin football staff.
LaVista stated that the recruiting process has been “pretty good” thus far, but also can be rather “stressful” at times. Currently, the recruit is taking the process day-by-day and waiting for “a few to hit” as big programs have noticed the wide receiver. LaVista expects to receive bigger scholarship offers moving forward as he continues to excel on the field.
Standing at 6-feet-2-inches, and roughly 195-pounds, the talented receiver LaVista can do quite a lot for his team. However, his best talent is by far the separation that he is able to create against the first line of defense. When in single coverage, LaVista can often lose his defender and find open space quickly for his quarterback.
The wide receiver averages double-digits yardage per reception currently and has also been known to find the end zone with ease. A season ago, LaVista secured 15 total touchdowns and truly seemed to place himself onto the radar of many big programs.

When asked about Wisconsin, LaVista stated, “Wisconsin has shown a ton of interest which has been great because they are one of my top schools.” LaVista added that Illinois, Iowa State, Minnesota, and Ole Miss have also been extremely interested in the recruit as of late.
Wisconsin Football Showing Major Interest in Wide Receiver Blaise LaVista
In order to properly run the air raid offense, a team needs a combination of a capable quarterback, and talented, speedy wide receivers.
The Wisconsin football staff has been working to secure a mix of both in the 2026 recruiting class, and has quickly fallen for the play of LaVista. The wide receiver is quick and with his fast feet, many defenders struggle to keep up. The power of the speed that LaVista adds on offense could become something the Wisconsin football staff develops ways to use.
However, before the staff can do that, they first must land a commitment from the talented wide receiver. While LaVista considers Wisconsin one of his top schools, the wide receiver added a few key aspects of a program that he is looking for.
LaVista stated, “Mainly I try to find out coaching styles and the energy of the staff when speaking with teams. Atmosphere is also huge for me.”
The recruit is likely going to take his time and see out the entire process before making a decision regarding his future collegiate home.
