Wisconsin Football Recruiting has had a strong start to its 2024 class. After hitting on two recruits last week, the Badgers are up to five in their class, with many more to come later. The 2024 class looks to be a strong class for the Badgers. Here is a look at the Wisconsin Football Recruiting class and where it stands now.
Wisconsin Football Recruiting: 2024 Class Rankings + Players
According to 247 Sports, the Wisconsin Football Recruiting class for 2024 is ranked 22nd overall. On3 has the Badgers ranked 19th overall and fifth in the Big Ten. Wisconsin has some good talent despite only five commits right now.
The highest-ranked recruit, according to 247 Sports, is Grant Stec. Stec is a 6’5, 210-pound tight end. This is a good get for Wisconsin as they have a number of upper class-men at tight end on the current roster. It’s a position they needed to address, and they have so far.
Up next is their 2024 quarterback. The Badgers have Mabrey Mettauer out of Texas. Mettauer has been getting more attention lately, so it’s important Wisconsin has his commitment right now. At 6’5 and 225 pounds, Mettauer has the body to play at the college level early. Right now, this is my favorite of the recruits.
Wisconsin has two commitments from in-state players, as well. They have another tight end in Rob Booker out of Waunakee. He is 6’6, 210 pounds, so it’s another big receiver and target coming in. They also just added offensive lineman Derek Jensen out of Hartland and Arrowhead High School. Jensen is 6’6 and 290 pounds. This is another big player with a chance to have a good career.
Last up is Thomas Heiberger. Heiberger committed to Badgers over the last weekend and is 6’4 and 210 pounds. It will be interesting to see if Wisconsin sees him as a defensive lineman or on the edge. Either way, he has a high upside.
Overall
It’s a small Wisconsin Football Recruiting class right now, but I like where the Badgers are right now. We will see more commitments as the summer goes along, but I like that they have addressed tight end and got their quarterback. You can never have too many good quarterbacks on your roster, and I really think they have a good one in Mettauer.
I think Heiberger and Stec also have the potential to be studs by the time they get on to campus. Stec is a good target for any quarterback, and Heiberger has the potential to do damage wherever he lines up.
It’s a good start, and I feel it will continue to improve!
