The Wisconsin basketball staff has been staying busy lately, offering multiple recruits across a handful of visits.
In conjunction with the football games, Wisconsin basketball has thrived in the recruiting department recently. Wisconsin is still interested in multiple 2024 recruits despite big names like Kon Knueppel and Jackson McAndrew committing elsewhere. However, the recruiting focus at this point seems to be on the 2025 and 2026 classes.
Wisconsin Basketball Offers 2026 Guard Gabe Sularski Following Recent Visit
Recently, Wisconsin basketball hosted the talented shooting guard Gabe Sularski as he visited from Illinois. The 6-foot-5-inch shooting guard comes from the well-known Benet Academy, which produced Badger legend Frank Kaminsky. Wisconsin quickly offered Sularski a scholarship during the visit as they continued working through the 2026 recruiting class.
Sularski is a deep threat on offense with an impressive jump shot. The talented guard has proved to be an impressive shooter thus far and continues to open eyes with his ability. Sularski has a long, wiry build and still needs to develop his game as a slasher, but the potential certainly appears to be there.
Thus far in the recruiting process, Wisconsin has been intrigued with Sularski and his ability. However, the Badgers are not alone in this process. The exceptional shooting guard has received multiple offers over the last month, including some from bitter rivals inside the Big Ten Conference.
Wisconsin Badgers Basketball, Michigan State Intensely Battling for 2026 Shooting Guard
Wisconsin basketball may have been the first team to offer Sularski out of the two, but Michigan State has taken the lead. According to Rivals, Sularski was ‘Speechless’ following his scholarship offer from the Spartans, which came two days after Wisconsin extended their offer. Sularski had previously met with coach Tom Izzo in August but left without a scholarship.
Following his new offer, the shooting guard shifted his attention toward the Spartans. The Wisconsin basketball staff is still very much interested, as this was something the staff had expected. The Michigan State Spartans hosted Sularski for his first collegiate visit.
Both Purdue and Illinois also had offered and hosted Sularski before he met with the Badgers. In a short time, the 2026 recruit has become a name to watch moving forward, given the offers he has received.
Wisconsin Badgers basketball has been met with plenty of resistance from other programs while recruiting Sularski, which may make it hard for the Badgers to make a realistic push. The official 2026 recruiting rankings have yet to be released. However, in the preliminary rankings, Rivals has ranked Sularski as the 47th recruit nationally.
