Former Milwaukee Brewers Pitcher With A 3.42 ERA Signs With The Chicago White Sox

A few former Milwaukee Brewers pitchers have signed contracts lately.  Drew Pomeranz signed with the Seattle Mariners, Eric Lauer went to the Toronto Blue Jays, and now former 2023-2024 MLB contributor Bryse Wilson has signed with the Chicago White Sox.

Bryse Wilson was productive during his two MLB seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers

Before the 2023 season, the Brewers acquired Bryse Wilson from the Pittsburgh Pirates for cash. Wilson came to Milwaukee with no remaining minor league options, making him a wild card to not only make it through the season but to stay with the team long-term. He managed to make it two full seasons with the Brewers while posting a solid 3.42 ERA over 181.1 innings, with the majority of his appearances coming in multi-inning relief roles.

Why did Bryse Wilson and the Milwaukee Brewers part ways?

In early November, the Brewers placed Bryse Wilson on waivers.  He went unclaimed and was outrighted off their 40-man roster.  This move was made as Milwaukee was facing the deadline to activate players from the 60-day injured list.  Wilson found himself as the odd man out and elected free agency.

Pending a physical, Ken Rosenthal has reported that Bryse Wilson has signed a one year deal with the Chicago White Sox.  This is a $1.05 million contract with the potential for $250,000 in incentive bonuses.  The White Sox plan on having Wilson compete for a spot in their starting rotation.
