The Wisconsin Badgers recruiting commit list is low
The Wisconsin Badgers are expecting a lot of roster turnover before next season. The program is heading in a new direction under head coach Luke Fickell. In the coming weeks, Fickell will need to hit the recruiting trail ad transfer portal hard. The Badgers are losing players to the transfer portal. The Wisconsin Badgers recruiting commit list is rapidly decreasing.
The Badgers found out last night that four-star running back Jaquez Keyes was de-committing from the Badgers. The Badgers recruiting list for the 2023 class now stands in the single digits. According to Colten Bartholomew with the Wisconsin State Journal, the Badgers only have eight commits for next year’s class.
Luke Fickell's either going to have to work some magic between now and Feb. 1, or be much more aggressive than he'd prefer to be in the transfer portal. #Badgers recruiting class is down to eight commits.

The Badgers class needs a lot of work this winter to be competitive next fall in the Big Ten. 247 Sports has the 2023 Wisconsin class ranked 87th nationally. Their transfer rank is 137th. All eight recruits have three-star rankings. The highest-rated recruit is cornerback Jace Arnold, who is ranked as the 551st-best recruit in his class and 54th-best at his position.
Fortunately, Fickell and his staff still have a couple of months to flip recruits before national signing day. Seeing this many recruits drop after Jim Leonhard decided to stay with the program is still a little surprising and concerning. We’ll see if he and Fickell can go out and land some four-star or higher recruits for the 2023 class.
