The Wisconsin Badgers offered a scholarship to a top-ranked recruit months ago and have since kept close contact with the recruit.
Four-star offensive tackle Oluwasemilore Olubobola earned a scholarship from the Wisconsin staff on July 8th after being a top target on the radar of the program. Offensive line coach AJ Blazek had the pleasure of extending the scholarship to Olubobola and felt the tackle had exceeded expectations.
Olubobola is currently ranked as the 77th overall recruit in the 2027 class, the eighth offensive tackle, and the second overall recruit in the state of New Jersey. Xavier Sabb, a five-star athlete and brother of college standout Keon Sabb, is currently the only recruit ranked ahead of Olubobola in the state of New Jersey.
The offensive tackle holds massive scholarship offers from programs such as Auburn, Florida State, Florida, Miami (FL), Tennessee, and Oregon. The Wisconsin Badgers are one of the newest programs to join the pursuit of Olubobola, but aim to be the program that manages to secure a commitment from the recruit in the end. When asked about the recruiting process, Olubobola stated, “The recruiting process has been going well for me, and the main things I am looking for in a school is a great o-line coach and a program with a history and tradition.”
Wisconsin Badgers to Keep Close Contact With Oluwasemilore Olubobola Throughout Upcoming Season
Wisconsin is committed to working the offensive lineman throughout the season as the Badgers arguably do not have a bigger offensive line prospect on the board currently. The key to recruiting Olubobola moving forward, however, will involve close contact between the offensive lineman and Badgers coach Blazek.
Blazek has developed a reputation of being an energetic recruiter who often keeps very close tabs on his recruits. Receiving a call or a message from the coach out of the blue is very common and the recruiting style of Blazek has been an effective one in the past. The coach is more than just a recruiter as Blazek has also produced results on the field and sent players to the next level.
Olubobola has had the chance to experience the recruiting style of Blazek first hand stating, “My experiences with Wisconsin have been great. Coach Blazek has kept in contact with me.”

The process is still relatively new to the offensive tackle, however, and there is still plenty ahead that could change the trajectory of where Olubobola lands in the future. The Wisconsin Badgers are eager to take a first step and bring Olubobola on campus for a visit, which the offensive lineman is currently considering.
“I would like to visit a lot of different schools, but Wisconsin is definitely on that list,” stated Olubobola. A visit would certainly be something that could help sway the recruit as the game-day environment in Madison is unlike any other. For the Wisconsin Badgers staff, the recruitment of Olubobola will largely be a waiting game as the recruit continues to stack up an impressive pile of scholarship offers.
