Former Wisconsin Badgers running back Jonathan Taylor is urged to leave the Indianapolis Colts by Pat McAfee during the latest episode of his show last Thursday where he named which players he thinks should stay with his former team.
“I wish we could transfer portal the whole f***ing team,” McAfee said. “We need like 70 guys to hit the portal, we can’t do it in the NFL, I guess. Just in case I ever wanted to pitch myself as the president of the Indianapolis Colts, not that I ever would. I’d put a plan together, ‘How do you get rid of this entire f***ing roster?’”
“Jonathan Taylor? Trade his f***king ass out of town. You got a second-round pick? Sweet. First would be better, we’ll do this for the good of the program. Anthony Richardson was a good project. Get him out of town. Fourth-rounder or whatever the hell you got. See ya. That’s what I would do. We need a full reset,” he continued.
In his NSFW rant, McAfee named Michael Pittman, Kenny Moore, Alec Pierce, Quinton Nelson, and DeForest Buckner as the exceptions of his proposed exodus. From a fan’s perspective, it’s not hard to see where the ESPN analyst is coming from.
Jonathan Taylor is one of the four Wisconsin Badgers named to the Pro Bowl
The Indianapolis Colts are eliminated from playoff contention because of their 7-9 record, but Jonathan Taylor has been a bright spot for them this year.
The former NFL rushing yards leader is back in the Pro Bowl games (alongside Zack Baun, Andrew Van Ginkel, and TJ Watt to represent the Wisconsin Badgers) for tallying 269 carries for 1,254 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns in 13 games.
Jonathan Taylor, who played for the Wisconsin Badgers from 2017 to 2019, has missed three games due to an ankle injury. He admitted in a recent interview that making it back to the Pro Bowl is “bittersweet” since he did it while his team was already out of the playoff picture.
